Charity Auction
After being on show to the public for 10 weeks, the lighthouse sculptures will find their permanent homes when they go under the hammer at a grand auction finale. The Guiding Lights auction takes place on 1 October at the Rolle Marquee, University of Plymouth, when the large and roaming sculptures will be sold to the highest bidders. All profits from the sales will go directly to fund the compassionate care St Luke’s delivers in people’s own homes and at the hospice’s specialist unit at Turnchapel.
Our beautiful large and medium lighthouse sculptures will go under the hammer, while the remaining Little Lights from our education programme will return to the schools and community groups who lovingly decorated them, as a lasting legacy of St Luke’s Guiding Lights.
We invite you to register your interest to join us for this special grand finale event to St Luke’s Guiding Lights, on Thursday evening 1 October 2026 at The Rolle Marquee, University of Plymouth. The reserve price for each lighthouse sculpture is expected to start from £3,000, so be prepared for some fun and competitive bidding!
At our previous auction event in 2019, the much-loved Elmer elephant sculptures sold for between £3,000 and £36,000, collectively raising over £330,000 to support St Luke’s care, an incredible achievement that made a real difference.
