About
Jina Gelder is a wildlife artist and illustrator working in Northumberland. She loves expressing character and life in her work as well as making people smile with her paintings.
For ten years, Jina has been raising funds for various charities through her imaginative sculpture designs. Her neighbours are regularly bewildered by the menagerie of giant animals entering and leaving her house… and Jina also finds she has to crawl into her garage via the undercarriage of an elephant.

Favourite Artist? Ooo possibly Catherine Rayner, I adore her children’s books and the lively marks and way of painting or printing. I also have to mention Chris Riddell as seeing his illustrations in the Edge Chronicles as a chiled inspired me to draw as a profession.
Favourite Artist Quote? “To draw you must close your eyes and sing”. Pablo Picasso
