April Newsletter 2026

Date published: 13 May 2026

Things are really hotting up! April has been a flourish of accomplishments as we edge closer to the live date for the trail. Not too many photos to share this month as we strive to keep the completed lighthouse sculptures under wraps until they are revealed to the public, but do check us out on social media for some sneak peaks!

Our wonderful St Luke’s Guiding Lights book ‘Lukey the Lighthouse Finds his Light’ is now available to purchase.

Book

Written by our very own Project Manager Georgina Dyke and illustrated by one of our Guiding Lights artists Steve Evans (take a peek at his artist profile on our artist page). You can buy a copy or two via our online shop by following this link: Guiding Lights Shop

Artists

Over the past couple of months our incredible artists have been busy working away on their lighthouse sculptures, and we cannot wait to share them with you this summer. There are so many bold, playful and beautiful designs for you to enjoy.

Our beam team have created such a lovely artist community, and now all our sculptures have been completed and varnished. We are very pleased to have reached this special milestone and are extremely grateful to all our fabulous artists, thank you.

Next up, our lighthouse sculptures will be having all their photos taken ready for our app, so that you can all enjoy unlocking them this summer when they are out on the streets.

Schools

It has been truly wonderful to see the stunning creations coming in. The effort, creativity, and dedication shown in decorating these sculptures have genuinely blown us away. Reaching this stage, from the launch of the project to receiving these Little Lights, has been an emotional and inspiring journey for us all.

We are incredibly grateful to every school and organisation involved. Thank you for embracing this project so enthusiastically, for sharing your stories and photos, and for embracing this lighthouse project with such energy, creativity, and commitment.

We hope you and your young people thoroughly enjoy seeing their work on display at The Box during the trail.

Sponsors

We’re delighted to share some fantastic sponsorship updates for St Luke’s Guiding Lights!

First, a huge milestone for the project – we are thrilled to welcome Persimmon Homes as our final roaming exhibition sponsor. This means all roaming exhibition sponsorship opportunities are now officially sold out… YAY! This is an incredible achievement and a testament to the amazing support from our community.

We’re also hugely excited to announce that Michael Spiers are now on board as the sponsor of Supernova, our in-memory lighthouse. We were especially pleased to welcome Jackie Spiers to the artist hub, where she painted a beautiful star featuring Michael Spiers’ name, a truly special and meaningful moment.

In addition, we’re proud to have welcomed JEM Scaffolding and Obedair, Porteous Groundworks, and Marsland Accountants, who are sponsoring some of our epic trail lighthouses. Their support is helping bring this trail to life in a big way.

While we’ve made incredible progress, we still have a limited number of sponsorship opportunities remaining. We would love to achieve full completion for the hospice, so if you’re interested in supporting St Luke’s Guiding Lights this year, please do get in touch.
