The children of Drake Primary are delighted to present to you their lighthouse: In Search of the World. All children submitted design ideas that were merged into one by the school council members. Our lighthouse represents every child at Drake with each of their fingerprints captured on a heart or as a balloon flying in the sky. The design symbolises their desire to always aim high!
Auction for St Luke’s Hospice Plymouth
After being on show to the public for 10 weeks, the lighthouse sculptures will find their permanent homes when they go under the hammer at a grand auction finale. The Guiding Lights auction takes place on 1 October at the Rolle Marquee, University of Plymouth, when the large and roaming sculptures will be sold to the highest bidders. All profits from the sales will go directly to fund the compassionate care St Luke’s delivers in people’s own homes and at the hospice’s specialist unit at Turnchapel.
