Golf Day
On the 5th of June Kim Dover and Anna Parson’s from our wonderful Partnership Team, took our little travelling lighthouse sculpture out for its first ever adventure. Stopping by to surprise and delight visitors at Staddon Heights for their Golf Day fundraising event. Those who attended, including the main sponsor Dewalt, managed to raise a whopping £10,000 for St Luke’s, well done to everyone involved and thank you Kim and Anna for taking our travelling lighthouse for its first outing.

Keep an eye out – you never know where it may pop up next!

Beamingly Brilliant
Since our successful Guiding Lights launch event, our beamingly brilliant lighthouse sculptures have been on display at Driftwood café within St Luke’s. Taking pride of place, both sculptures have been dazzling staff and visitors, whilst giving everyone the opportunity to enjoy them up close.

Turnchapel Mermaids

And here are the wonderful Turnchapel Mermaids Lucy Allison, Philippa Hall, Hannah Blore, Sian Lane and Louisa Duggan our very own Head of Facilities and Maintenance, next to Brian Pollard’s lighthouse at the Driftwood Café. The Turnchapel Mermaids recently embarked on an epic 14-mile sponsored swim this month. Starting from the Eddystone lighthouse and swimming across to the Plymouth Hoe, together they have raised money for St Luke’s. We would like to say a huge well done to the Turnchapel Mermaids for their incredible achievement!

Artists

We are seeking artists to transform one of our large lighthouses into a dazzling masterpiece for our Guiding Lights art trail in 2026.

Whether it be wild, whacky, elegant or bold…patterned, floral, abstract or gold! We would love to see your creations. We invite both emerging and established artists, local and regional to submit their designs for this project.

Designs are welcome in a range of mediums from graffiti to fine art, illustration to media. So, if you, or someone you may know would like to get involved in this fantastic project please do guide them our way.

Schools

This project will bring so much joy and enable children to not only be creative but provide them with an opportunity to have their work displayed for the visiting public. We are certain that the involvement from our Learner Programme community, will create a lifetime of memories for their young people, and recognition of their efforts.

We are delighted that those enrolled are already thinking about what fundraising endeavours they will be embarking on. As well as being creative and enjoying the prestige of having their work displayed throughout the duration of the trail, we would like the project to raise awareness about the work we do at St Luke’s.

All the fantastic efforts of those involved will help towards raising vital funds for our charity and we are so very grateful!
