Excitement, action, and full speed ahead -that’s the best way to describe March!
Behind the scenes, things are moving at breakneck speed as we and every artist, school and organisation is working so hard to ensure this project is a success. It’s incredibly rewarding to see plans we’ve all worked on for so long finally taking shape and coming together.
We’re truly grateful for the excitement, enthusiasm, and support from everyone involved. That energy continues to inspire us as we move forward.
We hope you enjoy reading about everything that’s been happening throughout March in this month’s newsletter!

Our Artist Painting Space Is Now Open!
We are delighted to share that our dedicated Artist Painting Space has officially opened, marking an exciting milestone for the Guiding Lights project. This creative hub is already filled with energy and colour as our artists bring their lighthouse designs to life.
The painting space gives our artists a welcoming environment to work in and bring their incredible designs to life. It also provides us with a fantastic opportunity to capture behind‑the‑scenes content, from interviews to photography, celebrating the wonderful talent and effort going into each sculpture.
We’re thrilled to see the space beaming with activity already, and we can’t wait to share more moments and updates as the sculptures take shape. We would like to say a huge thank you to Plymouth’s Nudge Community for making this vibrant creative space possible.
If you would like to take a sneak peek of our artists at work, head on down to the Armada Centre and have a look through the portholes, to see our brilliant artists busy painting their sculptures

We know that every school and organisation is working so hard to paint/decorate their Little Light and to meet the deadline of 21/22 April. We are so grateful to all involved in the Learner programme. We really can’t wait to see all the completed Little Lights. If you are involved in the Learner programme, the Learner packs and guide from Wild in Art are now available in the School’s toolkit on the Guiding Lights website. Contact Sarah if you need the password sending again.
It’s been so wonderful to receive updates from schools as they share photos of the children engaging with their lighthouse from the design stage (digital, 2D and 3D) to it’s actual creation. Thank you Poles Apart, Keyham Barton Catholic Primary School and Ford Primary for sharing these photos.

We’re delighted to continue growing our incredible community of supporters and would like to extend a warm welcome to our newest sponsors, Plymouth Manufacturing Group and JEM Scaffolding/Obedair. We’re also pleased to welcome Jackman SW and The Provincial Grand Chapter of Royal Arch Masons in Devonshire as our new roaming exhibition sponsors – thank you for joining us on this exciting journey. Your support plays a vital role in bringing Guiding Lights to life, helping us create a meaningful and memorable experience for our community while raising essential funds for patient care.
It was fantastic to see so many of our sponsors at our recent Sponsor Activation Workshop, kindly hosted by our accommodation partner, the Crowne Plaza, alongside Wild in Art. The morning was a brilliant opportunity to connect, share ideas, and explore how sponsors can maximise their involvement throughout the trail year. We’re so grateful to everyone who attended and to all of our sponsors for their ongoing enthusiasm and support. We’re also excited to share that our Sponsors’ Toolkit is now LIVE! Available via a password-protected area of the St Luke’s Guiding Lights website, it’s packed with resources to help you make the most of your sponsorship-if you need a reminder of the login details, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
