Kaya Gallery Exhibition
On Friday 7 November, we enjoyed a wonderful evening at the Kaya Gallery celebrating our very own launch artist, Brian Pollard at their wonderful exhibition. It was great to see Brian’s creativity and passion shine on display.
A huge thanks to Chris and the team at the Kaya Gallery for their warm hospitality.
A magical night!
We were thrilled to take to the stage on Saturday 15 November for the Barbican Christmas light switch on, presenting our stunning launch lighthouse sculpture and speaking to Brian Pollard our launch artist.
The atmosphere was electric, and the community spirit was shining bright!
A big thank you to the Plymouth Waterfront Partnership for inviting us and bringing much festive cheer to the waterfront. And thank you to Lang and Potter for crafting such a fantastic travel bag for our sculpture.
Making waves…
Our wonderful launch artist Mrs Murals combined her creativity and passion for St Luke’s in a unique way!
She’s painted a custom surfboard that featured in a silent auction, with 50% of the proceeds going St Luke’s Hospice. This is more than art it’s a symbol of giving back.
The auction has now ended, thank you Mrs Murals!

What an incredible day! Our Artist Shortlisting Panel brought together brilliant minds and passionate voices to shape the next chapter of our project.
The energy in the room was electric as we championed diverse perspectives and celebrated the sheer talent of every artist considered.
We’re thrilled with the shortlist and can’t wait to share the exciting journey ahead.
A huge thank you to Annie Laughrin (Wild in Art), Sabrina Candido (Plymouth Culture), Brian Pollard (Artist), Sarah Holcombe (University of Plymouth) and Jesse James Cambridge-Arroyo (our very own St Luke’s Graphics Designer) you all made this milestone so inspiring.

Little Lukey has had an incredibly busy November, visiting schools across the city to meet children and share the message of hospice care and the Guiding Lights trail. He has been welcomed so warmly at College Road Primary, Ford Primary School, Poles Apart AP, Lipson Vale Primary School, Shakespeare Primary, Tor Bridge Primary, Keyham Barton Catholic Primary School and Stoke Damerel Primary.
The children have shown such respect, enthusiasm, and excitement for the project it’s been truly inspiring! Their thoughtful and compassionate questions have warmed our hearts. Thank you to every school taking part, your support means the world to us.
We’ve recently shared instructions and a link to set up your school Just Giving fundraising page. This is a fantastic way to track progress and an easy tool for sharing your efforts with the wider community through newsletters and beyond. A big thank you to those who have already created their pages!
We know this time of year is incredibly busy with concerts, nativities, productions, and all the festive fun that comes with it. That’s why we’re especially grateful to each and every one of you for finding the time to support us. Your efforts help us continue providing quality hospice care for patients and families across Plymouth and every penny raised truly makes a difference.

This month, we were thrilled to host our second sponsorship information event at the hospice. It was wonderful to welcome so many attendees who were keen to learn more about the project and explore how they can get involved. If you’re interested in joining us next time, our next information event will take place on 14 January – please do reach out, we’d love to see you there!
We are also delighted to share that two new sculpture sponsors have come on board this month: Fort Stamford and Molyneux Associates. Their generous support means a great deal to us, and we are incredibly grateful for their continued commitment to St Luke’s.

In addition, we have confirmed three new roaming sculpture sponsors. A special thank you to GA Solicitors, who have chosen to sponsor Mrs Mural’s hero sculpture, Mini Murals/Little Lukey. It was a pleasure to meet with their team at the Turnchapel conservatory this month to officially launch the partnership.
Our thanks also extend to Beers LLP and Dartmoor Zoo for joining us as roaming sculpture sponsors. Watch this space – We’re excited to be working closely with Dartmoor Zoo, with more details about a unique collaboration to be revealed in the coming months.
Tourist Information Centre – Supporting the Trail
We’re delighted to have the Plymouth Tourist Information Centre on board as a key supporter throughout the trail!
Their team will be helping us by stocking our trail maps and some of our Guiding Lights merchandise, while providing guidance to visitors to make their experience even more enjoyable.
A huge thank you to Clare and the team at the Plymouth Tourist Information Centre for championing this project and supporting us.
