Did you know

In addition to our main interactive sculpture trail, we will be running our St Luke’s Guiding Lights Roaming Exhibition, which is set to tour the surrounding areas of Plymouth.

The Roaming Exhibition will feature up to 10 uniquely designed small sized lighthouses, which are each 1m high.

Our little lighthouses will travel together collectively to our outreach areas of Plymouth such as Salcombe, Kingsbridge and Tavistock. These little lighthouses will be put on display at different locations for 2 weeks for the duration of the main trail, in the summer of 2026 and will make an important contribution towards a fantastic cause.

You can join our St Luke’s Guiding Lights Roaming Exhibition as a sponsor. For just £2000 plus VAT your sponsorship includes:

Your logo on a lighthouse sculpture plaque displayed for 10 weeks across outreach locations.

Inclusion on the official trail map app and website reaching thousands of visitors.

An invite to our sponsor design selection event to choose the artwork that reflects your brand.

VIP access to our farewell event and grand auction.

Opportunities to network boost visibility and support vital local cause.

Spaces are limited and allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, so now is the perfect moment to spotlight your business while contributing to something truly meaningful.

Artists

We’re thrilled by the creativity pouring in from artists across the region and locally. If you’ve been thinking about submitting a lighthouse design, now’s the time!

The deadline for artist submissions is fast approaching and ends on the 27th October 2025 at midnight.

Whether your work is bold or subtle, we welcome all ideas and invite curiosity. This is your chance to shine and be part of a unique art trail that is all about making a difference.

Schools

With all our schools now signed up, our project is becoming more exciting than ever! We’ve loved visiting pupils and sharing more about the work we do at the hospice—especially the Guiding Lights project they are helping to illuminate.

One of the highlights has been arriving at schools with Little Lukey, our travelling lighthouse, and hearing the gasps of awe and wonder from the children. We’ve met so many inspiring pupils and staff—some even acting as compassionate ambassadors for their schools! Their thoughtful questions have kept us on our toes, reminding us just how curious, caring and fun young minds can be.

We are truly blown away by the enthusiasm and support shown by everyone. Your dedication to fundraising for our hospice this year means the world to us.

A huge THANK YOU to each and every one of you!

Sponsors

We’ve had a fantastic month connecting with our community and growing our family of supporters!

Earlier this month, we hosted a sponsor recruitment event right here at the hospice, giving local businesses the chance to learn more about how they can get involved in Guiding Lights, complete with lighthouse cookies and selfies. We will be hosting another one in mid-November.

We also had the pleasure of attending a BLOCK Talks session, where we shared our vision and spoke with their inspiring network about the benefits of supporting the trail. Thank you so much to the team at BLOCK for the warm welcome onsite, the lighthouses looked right at home by an incredible industrial door, overlooking the harbour in Royal William Yard. Thank you also to the businesses for taking time out of their busy day to hear about the project and be enthusiastic to ask questions and learn more.

Finally, we would like to give a very warm welcome and heartfelt thanks to Classic Builders and the Plymouth City Centre Company, who have come on board as sculpture sponsors this month – we’re so grateful for your involvement!

We’ll be exhibiting at the upcoming Devon Business Show on Wednesday the 15th October 2025 between 10am – 3pm at stall number 108 and we’d love for you to stop by.

It’s a great chance to chat, discover more about the trail, and explore how your business or organisation can get involved.

Thanks for catching up with us this month, let’s explore, celebrate and support one lighthouse at a time.
