We currently have over 650 amazing volunteers and they are at the heart of everything we do. We simply could not deliver our care without them. People volunteer with us for many different reasons. Our volunteers tell us they joined to meet new friends or to gain skills and experience or because they have a personal connection to St Luke’s. For just £1 a week you can help us bring our expert compassionate care, free of charge, to people in your local community at a crucial point in their lives. It’s one of the simplest and most effective ways you can make a real difference to patients at the end of their lives and their family members who we support.

How Lighthouses support St Luke’s Hospice Plymouth
Lighthouses are navigators for those who are weathering stormy seas. The first lighthouse built on the treacherous Eddystone Rock, was a pioneering project, just as St Luke’s has been a trailblazer for hospice care in Plymouth, Southwest Devon and East Cornwall. We put our patients first, delivering care in their homes and at our specialist unit at Turnchapel and shine the spotlight on encouraging conversations around death, dying and bereavement.
