Little Lights Programme

We are thrilled to invite all schools and community groups across Plymouth to apply to take part in St Luke’s Guiding Lights Learner programme.

The Little Lights programme is an exciting opportunity to showcase your school or community group to a huge audience, as well as raise awareness and vital funds for St Luke’s Hospice Plymouth.  This project can be mapped to the Arts Award, supporting your school’s application towards Artsmark status and demonstrate the school’s commitment to creative learning. It is also a fantastic project that can be used to support the schools Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural (SMSC) responsibility and equipping pupils with the knowledge of cultural capital that they need to succeed in life.

Join our learner programme and you can design and decorate your own little lighthouse sculpture (1m high and known as a ‘Little Light’). The Little Lights will be showcased for the visiting public in a city venue for the duration of the trail. They will form a part of the farewell event where all the lighthouses, big and small will come together for the visiting public to get their final glimpse of these breathtaking awe-inspiring pieces of artwork. Whilst the large ones will be auctioned off and go to their forever homes, your Little Light will be returned to you for you to keep forever as a treasured memory of your proud participation in the event.

We are certain after reading all about our amazing lighthouse sculptures, you will want to get your school or organisation involved in this unforgettable, unmissable art experience. We’ll ask you to pay a registration fee to take part which goes towards our costs, and we encourage additional fundraising as a school, as this will contribute vital income for St Luke’s and go directly to patient end-of-life care.
